Top 5 Take-Aways: Apple Educator Training

  1. Shared Photo Streams: A shared album for photos and videos. Participants can 'like' and add comments for real-time feedback.
  2. iTunesU: Create an interactive course with multimedia, discussions, and turn in assignments with an LMS optimized for the iPad.
  3. One Best Thing: Free iBooks for teachers created by Apple Distinguished Educators.
  4. Interactive Keynote presentations:  Engage your students at a whole new level, (also possible with PowerPoint & Google Slides).
  5. Create a Culture of Learning: Instead of “Yes, but…” try “Yes, and….” If you are sharing with adults, be cognizant of  adult learning strategies.  Consider trying a collaborative Keynote!

What’s The Big Deal About Twitter?

Twitter is a great way for Educators to:
  1. Connect with others.
  2. Get inspired to try new ideas.
  3. Share their story.
  4. Find all sorts of resources.

*Twitter gossip* : Will character count increase? What will this mean for your Twitter feed? Mixed emotions about this possibility!  Read about it here.

If you are just getting started with Twitter, it's okay to lurk. Watch how hashtags are used, learn about shorthand, get comfortable, and know you can’t read everything. Find a topic that is interesting to you and follow the hashtag.
