In the last 6 months, I’ve spent some time investigating CoSpaces. CoSpaces allows students to tell a story in a 3D world. Students are also able to showcase work in a student-created museum, create models, or just exercise their imagination. CoSpaces has also added Blockly and JavaScript, enabling students to animate their world through code! But that’s not all! Students can then share their creations through 360 images or a more immersive experience using a virtual reality headset.
When I first learned about CoSpaces, the first thing I did was hand it to my 7-year-old and said, “Play with this and let me know what you think.” He instantly fell in love. It was user-friendly. It was exciting. It was open-ended, much like his beloved Minecraft. But CoSpaces isn’t just for littles. Because it is so open-ended, students of all ages can create a project as unique as they are!
If you are looking for ways to use this in your classroom, you can check out CoSpaces Exercises area or Gallery on their homepage or join the CoSpaces Classroom Facebook group.
CoSpaces is free and is available online, on iTunes and on Google Play. Students are able to create online and on Apple Devices. At this time, Google Play app is only for virtual reality viewing.

Navigating in your world online can take some getting used to (especially for adults). To help get you where you're going, use the arrows, the spacebar, AND the touchpad.
After you have added an object, personalize it!
Want to add your own images?
As always, use Web Image search with caution!
Give Coding a try! Activate your Pro Account!
Don't forget to share your creation!
The first step is to give it a try! Don't be afraid to let your students teach you and to learn together! Good luck!
